Shopping & Cobwebs

Went shopping on my usual shopping day. It was nice. But did not do my usual supermarket this one is quieter I think I will continue using it . Got all what I needed. Bin men picked all the rubbish , now to start filling the bin up again. Wet grey and dull out there but it’s pleasant enough . My cobwebs have been blown away!

Hello

Walking up to get my bus to work I passed the lady who I usually do out walking her dog and we both said hello to each other at the same time. I think we will become friends somehow. She always walks her dog in the afternoon and said that’s her daily walk even before lockdown .

Knitting In The Morning

Why do I feel guilty doing my knitting in the morning? I am so used to doing it in the evening and weekends. Done all the chores what needed doing so sat down and done some knitting. When the children were younger I used to sit down about 2 and knit till about 3 then picked them up from school. Unable to do that now as they are all grown up now! Also I have to get ready for work at that time. Plus also I was up early this morning didn’t have a good sleep, but hopefully tonight I will.

Lovely Neighbour

Walking up the path near home saw my lovely neighbour she is not well but not with this virus I am glad to say, social distancing in place we managed a little chat. She lifts my spirits up and she has got a wonderful sense of humour.

Doughnut Wednesday

1. When I unpacked my shopping I found a packet of doughnuts how they got there I do not know lol! Was good with my coffee. 2. Shopping was so nice. Didn’t have to queue up . Got there expecting to queue but they called me in straight away, and it was quiet in the supermarket.  3. We change our eating habits a bit since lockdown and for the better, still get a few treats in for everyone 2 sons and me. Doughnuts anyone?

Daily Tuesday

1. Daily walk completed with younger son. Eldest son went on his run. When this is over I must continue to do a daily walk. 2. Bought tins without ring pull, how lazy we got! Hoped that the tin opener works and yes it does. Dinner is now sorted. 3. After 6 weeks of not having tins and plastic not being picked up , the men came to pick it up!

Monday

1. Doing housework with headphones on dancing and bopping away to heart’s content. Least I am getting exercise! Vocal chords as well. 2. Seagulls circling overhead cawing or whatever noise they make. I think they miss the day trippers at the seaside so they flew here to find out where we are. 3. Now getting ready to go to work it’s nice in away as it’s routine for me.

On The Phone

.Sister at the other end of the phone with her tea and muffin, me at the other end with my coffee and toast covid19 is not stopping our Saturday meet-up which we doing for the past40 years plus! We may not see each other but we can have a good laugh and chat. I know you can FaceTime zoom and whatever else is out there but she is a bit of old fashioned girl and likes talking on the phone!

Enjoying

Youngest son donned an apron on and started to do more sorting out and he is really enjoying it. And enjoying bossing me about! But I don’t mind it was the kick up the backside I needed.  Finding my original iPad. It was put in a safe place! Also I forgot long on details etc for it , so I was treated to a new up to date one . Then all of a sudden I remembered the login details for it so call me 2 iPads . The one I found is really old but usable .

Concrete Beauty

An early morning walk around the urban jungle I live in . Like to think that I am the only one up, but I know others will be up. The street lamps add their glow to the dawn which is just beginning to break through . Trying to find beauty in this place, then I notice a grass verge which has not been cut so there was dandelions daisies and buttercups galore, adding their beauty against the concrete.

Peace

1. An other lot of books sorted and found some I forgot about. Mainly craft books so definitely no more craft books . I have said that before but I will try lol! 2 . The squares I am knitting are coming along well and the colours are really working well . Pink and orange with white. 3. Knitting is really soothing for me it calms me down and I feel at peace with myself.

Rearranged

Came in from work and I was speechless my son  rearranged the living room . I had forgotten how much bigger the living room is . It looks really lovely. I was bored he said so I thought I do it . Bless him.

Sister

Spoke to my sister on the phone the other day, she suggested an other supermarket than my normal one, and I did take her suggestion and it was stress free shopping no long queues got what I wanted . Thanks sis! My 93 old mother is coping with this very well this lockdown, I been through the war and survived I am going to survive this she said. My sis lives with her.

Thanks Dad

1. Went on my walk , I had to make myself do it. It’s so easy to stay in and do housework! But feel so much better for it. Checked son’s car. It’s fine. 2. A black tipped butterfly came to visit . 3. Still listening to James Last I don’t know what it is about his music it giving me a lift. Also it reminds me of my dad who had a love of band music and jazz. Thanks dad for sharing your love of music.

Large Gin !

1. Watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang . 2. A large gin and ginger beer with spiced orange went down well. 3. Joining a craft forum online and interacting with other crafters .

Headless Phones

Headphones on bopping about to James Last in the kitchen humming along as well, eldest son walked in and gave me such a look. I said to him these headless phones are really good and it took me awhile to get used to moving about with them on , without out the cord. Mother he said you lost the plot lol!

Square

1. K3 p3 on 21 sts continue for 34 rows . Then cast off . 1 square made. 2. Done shopping. The queue wasn’t to bad, but will stick to a evening shop for the time being once a week. 3. Brought some chocolate, some people need their wine , ciggies etc I need chocolate just one small bar a day.

Soothing

1.  Casting on stitches is really soothing my soul. Remembering my granny who taught me how to knit when I was just 4 years old. 2. How do other people stay positive in this difficult time. Glad I got my reading, knitting and crochet. Got stacks of  books to read and bags of wool. 3. Trying to keep in a routine, my routine had to change like many others but it’s not easy.

Finally

Going for my walk, saw 2 people who I usually have a chat to and since this lockdown not been able to have a chat, we said hello from across the road. And we were socially distancing. Saw one lady near home going for my walk and the other on the way home. It’s times like these  that you realise what you take for granted and who. On a happier note I found my new knitting needles and row counter. I just could not find them put them in a safe place , i look and look but kept finding other bits instead and I was getting frustrated as I want to do some knitting , finished the cat blanket, I usually do knitting then crochet etc but anyway I finally found them in a bag right in front of me!

Blues Gone

Was going to buy more wool online I usually do when I feel a bit blue but as I am sorting out my bedroom I found some wool in colours similar to what I was going to order! So the blues have upped and runned . The reason why I feel blue? I am seeing the other side of the doctors and nurses who are dealing with this virus and seeing the strain and the tiredness  breaks my heart. I do what I can by making sure that their area is clean etc, as you can guess I am a hospital cleaner. But they keep smiling as best they can. So I put on my professional face smile and greet and say anything I can do for you just ask.

Eggs.

1. Today was the first day I bought some eggs since this virus came about and people panicked bought. So egg and chips went well. 2. Nice coming home in the light. The early evening and early mornings are my most favourite time of the day. 3. Finished tidying up the corner in the garden looks good.

Little But Often

1. Did some gardening . Well cleared the untidy corner out. 2. Found a load of snails but didn’t disturb that much. 3. Little but often is my new motto for the garden and spring cleaning.

Daughter

1. Seeing my daughter in the distance and us waving at each other madly. She was going up the travelator in local supermarket, I was outside going for my bus home from work. We were more than the 2 metres distance. Not seen her since this lockdown. 2. Getting my rhdr magazine. It’s a miniature railway based in Kent. Talking to eldest son about it and it was bringing back some happy memories. 3. I do have to go to work , I work in my local hospital and in this crazy time we are going through it certainly is difficult but I work along side some amazing people . It’s an honour and pleasure to work with them .

Done Him Some Good

1. Youngest son came for a walk with me to the local shop. Did him some good and me. Spoke to a neighbour just a brief chat just making sure we were all right. 2. Local shop has now dropped some of the restrictions on items certain items such as paper goods etc are still restricted but he is very fair. 3. Found a gorgeous crochet pattern for a square done in two colours. But I must finish cat blanket, then start my knitting, then crochet that square . Cream and a light orange I have in mind.

Busy

1. Kitchen is being decluttred slow but sure. The cupboards are next on the list. This lockdown has its uses. 2. Making an other sausage meat and bake bean pie! But I do use ready rolled pastry. Pastry making and meringues are not my forte. But cakes they are . 3. Picked up my crochet and feel better for it . Next is knitting.
